Testimonial

I thought the teacher approach was very friendly and encouraging. The activities created a very good group spirit. The level of challenge was appropriated. Lots of fun. I would highly recommend this course.

It was really fun. Lovely group. I like the structure with a different approach each week and showing us different ways into acting rather than just giving us a script and getting on with it. I feel like I understand the process of acting better now. Facilitator was fantastic and knows the best party games in the world.

Energetic, fun course delivered by a very dedicated and professional teacher.

All the different exercises made me aware of my body. There were a huge variety of exercises – all of them very useful. I was introduced to something new every week. A very high quality course.

The course provided just the right level of challenges in a supportive, relaxed and fun environment. The teacher was an absolute pleasure – enthusiastic, passionate and attentive.

An excellent teacher, extremely positive and upbeat, made the whole thing just a whole lot of fun.

I thought the facilator was fantastic. Very talented and he made the course really enjoyable as well. I liked the structure of the course and thought it was professionally run. I also learnt a lot and met great people.

The tutor was great, very appreciative and seemed to also be enjoying the class. Games were both fun and very challenging. Liked the pace – brisk and positive.

I’ve enjoyed all the activities we were asked to do. I was surprised how comfortable the teacher made us feel, because as a beginner, I would have expect that it would take me more time to not feel embarrassed. The activities were very creative and helped a lot learn more about myself, and what I can do with my body and imagination.

I can honestly say that 'acting fun' has been a just that. Lots of funand a very different way to gain confidence and feel more comfortable in front of an audience, which I hope will help with future presentations.

Learn something new, meet other like-minded people, push your own boundaries and gain confidence.

I enjoyed all aspects of the 8 week course, starting with the ice breaker exercises, to the body awareness, to the awareness of status, to the the plosive articulation of tongue twisters, THE LAUGHS that happened spontaneously throughout the programme, the improvisation exercises were gripping - more of this would have been great.

I like the improvisation games, the relaxed atmosphere. For someone who started the course thinking it would be a mild form of torture, I actually found myself enjoying every second of it in a not-at-all masochistic way! It was a lot of fun and really inspiring; I would never have thought I’d be tempted to do the intermediate course either but I’m now very much so now.

I had an excellent time, really felt I learnt something, loved the relaxed and supportive atmosphere and the ease with which confidence for what one was doing built up over the 8 weeks. I will definitely continue onto the next course.

Such inspiring teachers - never judgmental always encouraging. Giving you a taster of what the acting profession is all about and an insight into oneself. I learned a lot. I wish there was more of the same, if you know what I mean. City Acting could go on forever!

I am thoroughly enjoying the class. Very interesting lessons with a great tutor, and a interesting and friendly group of people. I'll be signing up for the follow-up class!

Excellent teacher and the class structure was perfect. There’s no messing around, no airy fairy stuff and no pretentiousness. Just solid techniques and fun.

Getting direction and being able to improve my performance was the most rewarding part.

The workshop was well planned, stretched my imagination, pushed me out of my comfort zone, was easy to follow and was made up of a really nice group of people.

Very good teacher. It was very good how he encouraged participation and I believe everyone grew in a lot of confidence very quickly. Would definitely recommend it!

I really enjoyed all the exercises we did, they were all a lot of fun and pushed me out of my comfort zone in different ways. I thought that our class got on really well, and everyone put their best in which encouraged others to do the same.

I loved the games, the script work, the improv, and generally the fun of it all. I found myself looking forward to each session.

Tutor was amazing – really friendly and fun and made everyone feel relaxed, and really good teachers, and very talented and inspiring. Enjoyed having the chance to be free and creative and learn new things, explore different ideas, liked that we were all fully ‘involved’ with everything and used our own creativity and ideas.

I felt that we examined so much and covered a huge amount, varying across the entire spectrum of the acting lexicon. The lessons were also thought out very well. Very good course.

I enjoyed the work-shopping scenes in a small group and getting to practice text from contemporary theatre. I also enjoyed the general atmosphere where you were encouraged to get outside of your comfort zone in a supportive and friendly environment.

Teaching by working actors is qualitatively different to being taught by full-time teachers in that it seems to have a freshness and excitement that can be lacking in the latter. This was the case with both workshops I attended. As they are actively engaged in the industry there is a sense of being taught by people who really do know what is demanded by the art.

I loved the overall experience. It felt like on ongoing practice in empathy such as learning to walk in someone else shoes. The course improved my motivation and capacity to listen and understand the people around me better. My professional relationship to clients and colleagues simply improved.

The approach to acting was absolutely great from the beginning, the teacher Will was brilliant ,he created the right atmosphere, relaxed, funny, enjoyable for everyone!

If you're looking to challenge yourself, leave your comfort zone, learn something new and at the same time have fun doing it then this is for you.

Just do it!!! It's lots of fun and i believe it's going to be challenging too, which is great and at least for me something I was looking for. And we will also have a photo in Time Out magazine! :o)
