City Acting Character has been designed as a follow on from City Acting for Intermediates but is open to anyone who has completed an equivalent course or who feels they already have some experience and confidence working with script. The classes run weekly for 7 weeks, 7-9pm.
* Waterloo, SE1 - every Monday from 11 September until 23 October, 7-9pm
Fees: 7 weeks course £185
This course gives you the chance to develop a character through an extensive rehearsal period, and to study in depth a rich and well-written scene from a known play.
Over the 7 week course you will be guided through the process of building a character physically and emotionally and, by being introduced to a new technique each week, really get the chance to immerse yourself in the character and the world of the play.
Each Character Building course is based on a different play. The previous courses have explored modern and classical pieces such as: Choderlos de Laclos' Dangerous Liaisons, Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, Neil Labute's Miss Julie, Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler..
The drama course is spread over 7 weekly sessions of 2 hours each. We keep group sizes small in order for the facilitator to give you a lot of individual feedback to encourage an intimate, friendly, and fun atmosphere in which you can learn and grow.
